Almost before he could walk, Phil Yates has been passionate about motorcycles and was riding them long before he was old enough to obtain a licence. He first let loose on the road in 1971 riding a Norton Dominator 99 and has been riding motorcycles ever since. He has owned a string of Norton Commandos and many, many other bikes, almost too many to remember. Phil’s passion for motorcycling led him to the creation of Highlands Classics.

Phil lives in Mittagong NSW Australia and currently owns ten motorcycles and two sidecar outfits himself, nearly all of them classics. He rides his motorcycles everyday. His business ‘Highlands Classics” offers a wide range of services to motorcyclists, the core one being the restoration of classic motorcycles in general and Nortons in particular.
